Electronic Giving Now Available! 

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is now an option for giving at Shenkel UCC!  If you sign up for EFT, your gift will be automatically debited once each month from your bank account, and can be designated for the Current Fund, Our Church’s Wider Mission, and/or the Property Fund.  Your contributions will be credited to your Shenkel giving account, and will appear on your year-end tax statement along with any other contributions you may make throughout the year.

   Homeless Ministry Update
      On Friday, November 13, 2009, Judge Surrick responded to our complaint filed against North Coventry Township saying that our case was "not ripe" for Federal Court - that in his opinion, there was no final determination by the Township that we could not participate in the rotating shelter program.   He dismissed the case "without prejudice" saying that, if and when we get a final determination from the Township the case can be filed again. 

 
 
      While deciding our next steps, we were informed that the Township would be considering an amendment to North Coventry's Zoning Ordinance to add a provision for temporary shelters in the Township.  This amendment was adopted on December 28; an article from The Pottstown Mercury can be read here.
