What are Prayer Teams?
Why do we have them?
The Prayer Teams were formed to give everyone an opportunity to ask for and receive prayers, which may take place in the church or grove, home, hospital, nursing home, etc.
Prayer Teams are groups of two or more persons who volunteer to pray for anyone who requests prayers.
What happens when
prayers are requested?
One of the Prayer Team members will ask your name and/or what you would like them to pray for with you. You will NOT be asked to pray, and all prayers are confidential. The Prayer Team members will pray for you, and if you desire, a blessing in God’s name will be given.
For what sort of things
can I request prayers?
You may request prayers for anything or anyone. Prayer Team members are there for anyone who feels the need for prayers and support of others.
Here are some examples:
• Personal health issues
• Sickness in the family
• Job interviews/difficulties
• Travel concerns/safety
• Celebration of milestones
• Children (projects, goals, education, health)
• Exams
• Pets and/or farm animals
• Difficulties in relationships
• Prayers of joy and thanksgiving
It is never easy to face problems
alone. Sharing with others relieves
any stress you may be going through
in your life… whatever it may be.
Please be sure you have permission from the individual to share information about their situation and/or their name before including them on Shenkel’s prayer chain. Some folks would prefer to share their information personally, some would prefer to keep their situation private, and some folks will appreciate being lifted in prayer without their specific needs being publicly known.
If you would like to request prayers from the Shenkel U.C.C. Prayer Chain/Community, please email the information to the office by clicking: shenkelucc@aol.com
Prayers will continue for 1 month.
1. A list of Prayer Chain members is posted in the Narthex.
2. Prayer Request Cards: Located in each pew. These requests will be shared with the pastor and prayer chain members.
3. 2nd Sunday of each month: Healing prayers are offered by Prayer Teams during or following worship.
4. 3rd Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in Sanctuary: Special healing prayers are offered by Wholeness Ministry members.
5. 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Agape Room: A time for prayer and meditation is offered.
6. Prayer Team Visit: Call the church office, 610-326-3535, to request a visit at your home, the hospital, or other setting.
Members of our Shenkel Church Family as well as the Community are invited to participate in any one or all of the above opportunities for prayer.
